We have a long standing partnership with the Student Radio Association so that we can stay connected to fresh talent in all the regions that we broadcast to.

The Communicorp UK Next Generation programme offers all SRA members the chance to gain hands on experience at any of our stations to help them develop their radio skills.

We love their energy, ideas and enthusiasm and our teams welcome them inside our stations regularly. Recently, we have been attending talks at universities across the country inspiring students to grow their careers in radio.

Capital Scotland Breakfast presenter, Steven Mill, and Programme Controller, James Maguire, recently attended the I Love Student Radio Day in Glasgow for a demo feedback session with students from all over Central Scotland. Steven said: "We listened to different demos as a group, asked for their feedback and added our thoughts. It was a nice interactive session which was really well received by the SRA and students. We shared hints and tips on how to produce and organise the perfect demo for sending to radio stations."

Smooth Radio North East Commercial Marketing Executive, Mark Black, recently attended the SRA day at University of Sunderland to give a talk about Marketing at Smooth Radio North East. He said: "I talked to the students about how branding is more than just sticking up a logo and illustrated how we make Smooth visible across the region. With that in mind, I asked students to design a piece of outdoor marketing for a digital billboard and the designs they came back with were very creative! It was a great opportunity to meet loads of students and talk about how there is more to working in radio that you think."
